You just got married at a drive-thru wedding chapel in Pigeon Forge. Let us shed some reality on the claims that Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have drive-through wedding chapels. There used to be one in Pigeon Forge. There was never one in Gatlinburg. For everyone’s sake, let’s hope they never make an appearance again.
There used to be drive-thru weddings in Pigeon Forge, TN
A couple of decades ago is where the whole talk of drive-thru weddings originated in this area. For those who are familiar with the drive-thru wedding chapel concept in Las Vegas, what they were running in Pigeon Forge was nothing like that. A small “chapel” opened out of a building that used to be what seemed like an old fast-food business. They did allow you to literally drive-through and get married through their small window. The ceremony lasted about two minutes at most and you were on your way…married. They even offered add-on photography services. This is quite funny and quite ridiculous, to say the least.
Needless to say, the drive-thru wedding chapel in Pigeon Forge did not stay in business very long before closing up. This shouldn’t come as a surprise for most people; who wants to get married through the window of an old KFC building? Who wants wedding photography, taken of you in your vehicle, from a drive-thru window? We can’t imagine most people would want that.

There have never been drive-thru weddings in Gatlinburg, Tennessee
At least regarding the last two decades, we have never known of an actual drive-through wedding chapel in Gatlinburg. People keep talking about them and bringing them up. People keep searching the Internet for them. We will never understand the obsession with people wanting to get married through a window, but Gatlinburg does not offer anything like that. Let’s keep that level of tacky contained to Las Vegas.
